Would you like to learn how to use visual film media in your research?

Do you have an interest in urban life or Eastern Europeans in London?

Applications are welcomed from postgraduate students and staff from UCL, as well as non-academics in the wider London Community, who can demonstrate an interest in the theme of Eastern Europeans in London.

No prior knowledge or familiarity with filmmaking is required. However, applicants will be required to demonstrate an active interest in the themes, a clear motivation for acquiring documentary filmmaking skills as a tool for urban research, and to describe their personal contribution to the course.

Deadlines

The deadline to submit your application is 1 September 2008. Part of the selection process may include an interview to be held in October.

Shortlisted candidates will be informed by October 3rd.

Interviews will be held in the week starting on October 13th.

Selected participants will be informed in early November 2008.

Costs

Selected participants will be asked to pay a nominal, non-refundable fee of £100 to secure their place on the course. London in Motion will provide equipment and video editing suites at no cost.

Participants are also encouraged to bring their own cameras or mobile phones to use during the workshops. However this is not compulsory.
